In September 2021, US Supreme Court Justice enacted a bill that would take away people’s fundamental, constitutional rights for easy access to abortion.

The newly passed law prohibits abortion as early as six weeks or as soon as fetal cardiac activity is detected. the law also does not make exceptions for rape or incest victims. But It does permit abortion for health reasons. (For instance: if it could endanger a mother’s life and could result to impairment of bodily function)

Under the Abortion bill, another legal stipulation states any private citizen in Texas, can sue anyone who performs or any institution they believe are aiding and abetting abortion. they can collect $10,000 and legal fees if they win.

As of press time, the law still stands. but Abortion rights advocates are continuously challenging the SB8 and launched a worldwide #BansoffOurBodies movement.
